The St. Louis Surge Women’s Semi-Professional Basketball Team will open the 2012 season against the Illinois Shooting Stars in its 2012 Home Opener May 5, 2012 at 7:00 p.m., sponsored by Ameren Missouri. The game will take place at the University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL) Mark Twain Building located at One University Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63121. Doors will open 45 minutes prior to the start of the game. Tickets can be purchased at the door: adults $8, students (with current high school student I.D.) $5, and $3 for children 12 and under. Family season passes, regular season passes and the Surge Kids Club passes can be purchased in advance beginning April 5.
The Surge will host seven regular-season home games in St. Louis and will feature teams from across the Mid-Western region. Among those teams include the Indiana Rock County Robins winners of the 2010 and 2011 Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League (WBCBL) National Championship competition, as well as the Illinois Shooting Stars and the Kansas Nuggets. Additionally, the Surge will be competing in a pre-season tournament in Miami, Florida against the Miami Rain at the American Airlines Arena April 13 at 1:00 p.m. (EST). The Surge will take on the Rain before the 2012 NBA game between the Miami Heat and the Charlotte Bobcats.
The St. Louis Surge projected 2012 Home Opener roster will include the following players: Rita Adams (4), Sydney Price (10), Tiffany Foote (11), Chanel Ross (12), Nancy Hesemann (22), Jordann Plummer (21), LaTice Jones (23), Christy Lane (34), Gabriella Green (35), and Brianna Leland (45).
Ticket specials for all Surge home games will be available in advance by contacting Khalia Collier at khalia.collier@stlsurgebasketball.com or at 314.262.2791 beginning April 5 for family season passes, regular season passes and the Surge Kids Club and will end May 3. Family season passes will cost $99 for two adults and up to three children (age 12 and under) and includes a Surge t-shirt. Regular season passes will be sold for $50 until June 17 and will include tickets to all home games and a Surge t-shirt. Beginning April 2 to June 17, membership into the Surge Kids Club will cost $20 and include tickets to all home games, Surge Kids Bucks (valid for concession items only), and a Surge t-shirt. All Surge Kids Club members must be between the ages of five and twelve and have parent/guardian permission.
