The St. Louis Surge, winners of five straight within the Womens Blue Chip Basketball League(WBCBL), continues its local campaign this Saturday night and looks to keep a home winning streak intact that has spanned two years.
St. Louis (6-1) hosts the Springfield Grizzlies at UMSLs Mark Twain Center (1 University Boulevard, St. Louis, MO) in a 7:05 PM tipoff.
The Surge collected a 103-68 home victory over Missouri Arch Angels on June 27 to post its fifth consecutive win. Five Surge players scored double-digits in the 35-point duke, paced by forward Rebecca Harris 23 points.
The topper over its WBCBL Mid-West Division rival also extended the franchises home winning streak to 11 games, dating back to the teams home opener of the 2014 season.
A 10-0 run that opened the second half propelled the teams sixth victory. Cassie Rochel, Raven Berry, Brittany Carter and Leah Cotton each contributed double digits in points and all will be in the line-up this Saturday.
Three-point weapon Sam Price and Surge veteran Jaleesa Butler will also be in the mix while Brianna Puni, Bianca Beck, Gabrielle Green, Devonna Smith and Yelani Rossado look to compliment.
Tickets for the game, promoted by the Surge as Rep Your High School Night, are $8 for adults while students, either college or high school with ID, are $5. Children five and under get in free as well as youth teams sporting their teams jerseys.
