The is excited to announce their partnership as a community empowerment partner with Girls in the Know, a St. Louis based nonprofit organization that educates and empowers mothers and their pre-teen daughters while encouraging positive decisions and healthy behaviors as girls mature into adulthood. The partnership will provide the St. Louis Surge an opportunity to support members of Girls in the Know through leadership, mentorship and community engagement and outreach activities that inspire youth to take charge of their lives. 

“I am very excited about our Girls In the Know partnership because we share the same mission of making a positive impact in the community, while empowering young girls, who are our future,” said Khalia Collier, Owner and General Manager of the St. Louis Surge. “The natural synergy that we share is exactly why I felt like they would be a great fit with the Surge as we continue on our mission in the community.”

The partnership will include a designated Surge Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit entity that serves St. Louis Surge corporate partners who wish to fund Girls in the Know outreach and scholarship programming. The fund will provide two diversity scholarships per program.

Collier will join the Girls in the Know Board of Directors, effective January 2016. She will serve in a support role, as a brand ambassador where she will assist in developing and directing outreach initiatives.
