St. Louis, Mo. - After receiving a wild-card entry into the 2012 Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League (WBCBL) National Championship, the St. Louis Surge took home second place against the Louisiana Bayou Angels Sunday, August 5 in Miami Lakes, Florida. The Surge fell short only ten points with a final score of 90 to 80. The Surge has left their mark in St. Louis history as second in the nation in women’s semi-professional basketball with a season record of 13 and 4.

The St. Louis Surge Woman’s Semi-Professional Basketball Team will be hosting the 2012 Mid-West Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League (WBCBL) Regional Tournament. The tournament will be held at the University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL) Mark Twain Building located at One University Blvd., St. Louis, Mo 63121, on Saturday, July 21 beginning at 1:00 p.m. Doors will open at 12:15 p.m. Tickets for the tournament can be purchased at the door: $10 per ticket or $20 for a day pass, which includes all three basketball games.
