Physician Vinay Kamat, MD, FACP

Dr. Kamat is a general internist practicing in West Saint Louis County.  Originally from Baltimore, he attended the University of Maryland where he graduated with honors.  He went on to attend the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed his residency at Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital Program in Internal Medicine.  He then served an additional year as Chief Resident of the program.

After many years of private practice, he joined Barnes West Medical Consultants as a member of the BJC Medical group.  He currently continues both inpatient and outpatient practice and is on staff at both Barnes West Hospital and Missouri Baptist Medical Center.

He has received the distinction of a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.  He serves as a clinical instructor and preceptor for the Washington University School of Medicine specifically focused on The Primary Care Track in the Department of Internal Medicine.

He has been voted a yearly member of Saint Louis Magazine’s Best Doctor’s in Saint Louis since 2013.

 In his leisure, he spends his time with his wife and three sons. He additionally writes prose and poetry and has published in a number of regional and national literary journals including the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA).
