The St. Louis Surge is thrilled to announce their game schedule for the upcoming 2023 season. This year will be full of excitement and new competition as the Global Women’s Basketball Association (GWBA) has added one new team, Kansas City Jazz, to the league this season. The GWBA now contains the following teams: St. Louis Surge, Wisconsin GLO, Flint Monarchs, and Kansas City Jazz.

Since 2017, the Surge has called home to Washington University’s Field House Complex to host all home games for the Surge season. Unfortunately, the Field House is undergoing capital renovations this upcoming summer from May-August 202. However, the Surge will proudly hold all 2023 home games right next door at Fontbonne University’s Mabee Gymnasium located in the Dunham Student Activity Center.

Last year during the 10th anniversary season, the Surge went 6-3 for a winning record in their regular season. They will be striving to have an even better record this year and hope to bring home a victory when fighting at the 2023 playoffs later this year in August.

The Surge will play their first games of the season during a doubleheader weekend against the Wisconsin GLO on their court in Oshkosh, WI on June 10th and 11th. Following these games, the Surge will face the Flint Monarchs in Flint, MI on June 17th for their third game of the season on the road.

On June 24th, the Surge will host their 11th season home opener against the Kansas City Jazz. “This season, we are building a team that will truly encompass the skills and passion that we need to succeed. With new teams entering into the league, we are focused on bringing the same heat and intensity to the court as we have the past 10 seasons,” stated Surge Owner Khalia Collier. The Surge anticipates a packed gym full of enthusiastic fans cheering the team to their first home court victory of the season.

The next home game will be held on July 8th as the Surge plays an exhibition game against the Windy City Lady Ballers. Following this weekend, the Surge’s final away game of the regular season will be held on July 15th against the Kansas City Jazz.

On July 22nd and July 23rd, the Surge will host a doubleheader weekend against the Flint Monarchs. The Surge will end their regular season with a final doubleheader weekend against the Wisconsin GLO on July 29th and July 30th. The July 29th game will be the Surge’s last regular season home game as the July 30th game will be an exhibition game against the GLO.
