Northwestern graduate Courtney Shaw will join the Surge for the 2023 season. Standing at 6’0”, Shaw was ranked 14th for forwards in the Big Ten when she played for Northwestern where she studied bioengineering. Her uncle also played football at Northwestern. There she averaged 8 points per game, 10 rebounds per game and 1.5 steals per game. She helped lead her team to a regular season champions for the Big Ten while being an All-Big Ten honorable mention.
In High school at Perry Hall High School in Maryland, Shaw had a ESPN scout grade of 90. She was ranked top 25 in the nation for forwards averaging 19 points per game while being ranked 4th nationally on offensive rebounds. She pulled down 10 rebounds per game at Perry Hall. Shaw graduated high school in the top 5% of her graduating class while being a member of the National Honor Society and French Honor Society.
After graduating college, Shaw joined Flash Agency and trained at the ESL international basketball camps for pro athletes.
