Point Guard Jacqlyn Poss will return for her second season with St. Louis Surge.
Last season with the Surge, Poss averaged 11 points per game along with 1.3 assist per game and 2.3 rebounds per game.
Prior to her career with the Surge, Poss played at the University of Denver where she scored 13.6 points per game and grabbed 2.7 rebounds per game. She was one out of 10 student athletes in the NCAA to be put on the Scholar-Athlete Team. Poss also received University of Denver’s Pioneer Award to honor her academic and athletic career while pursuing a B.S. in Finance and a M.S. in Business Analytics.
In high school, Poss played for Roseville Area High School in Minnesota. There she was a four time All-Conference honoree while also receiving a MVP honor and was put on the All-State Coaches team twice. She set a school record for Roseville Area with the most threes in a single season with 58 threes. She also set a school record for the most threes in a game with seven made three pointers. She scored her 1000th career point her junior year and was a Miss Basketball of Minnesota candidate. Along with basketball, Poss was two times All-Conference in tennis and a state qualifier earning Academic All-State twice. She also competed in track and field.
Along with the Surge, Poss has also played professional basketball overseas in Australia, Luxembourg and Croatia. She also spent some time as an assistant coach for the University of St. Thomas.
Now, while still competing as a professional athlete, Poss has a position as the Senior Data Scientist for the Orlando Magic.
