Kelsey McClure will be coming back for her sixth season with the St. Louis Surge.
The 5’9” point guard from Muskogee Oklahoma began playing with the Surge in 2018. Prior to her professional career, McClure played collegiately for Arkansas Tech University. There she earned two conference titles while averaging 18 points per game, 5 assists per game and 7 rebounds per game. She also obtained 3 steals per game in her career at Arkansas Tech. Her contributions earned her an All-Conference selection and GAC All-Tournament honors. While also pursuing a B.A. in broadcast journalism, McClure earned the 2017 Scholar Athlete of the Year.
McClure spent the first two years of her collegiate career at the University of Central Arkansas where she averaged 9.8 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game and 5 assists per game.
Her time at Muskogee High School, McClure led her team to a 20-7 record in her senior year. She was the leading scorer averaging 21.5 points per game while also acquiring 4.8 rebounds per game and 2.6 assists per game. She was awarded Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State honors for her efforts. She was also a McDonald’s All-American nominee and Muskogee Phoenix All-Area MVP.
On May 9th, the city of Muskogee in Oklahoma gave McClure the key to the city and declared May 9th “Kelsey A. McClure Day”.
In her professional career, McClure has played with the Surge and spent some time overseas playing in France. Last year she averaged 9.3 points per game, 1.9 assists per game and 2.4 rebounds per game.
Outside of the Surge, McClure is also an athletic coordinator and coach for Allen ISD.
